July 30, 2010, The Oakdale Theater - Wallingford, CT.....by Lisa Ann

We, in CT, were one of the very few lucky ones in the country to have Limp Bizkit AND Avenged Sevenfold perform on the same night.  Limp Bizkit's tour was canceled earlier in the summer and just a handful of shows were to go on as scheduled.  About a month prior to the show, it was announced that Avenged Sevenfold was joining the bill, which for the ladies of RAWR Magazine, was a wet dream come true, as Limp Bizkit and Avenged Sevenfold just happen to be our two most favorite bands!

The anticipation of a highly regarded forthcoming CD, Gold Cobra, was the thought in everyone's mind.  Limp Bizkit hasn't had a record out for quite a while now and their fans were out in full force on July 30, 2010 at the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, CT.  The venue was packed and the crowd was hungry for an amazing show.

Limp Bizkit opened their show up with intro music of Willy Wonka's Pure Imagination and proceeded into Hot Dog. Front Man, Fred Durst, jumped off the stage and into the crowd and performed from the pit surrounded by crazy moshing, crowd surfing, and their amazingly supportive fans.  While back on stage and performing Take A Look Around, Fred Durst pulled a kid from the crowd, a true die hard LB fan, one who frequently chats with Fred on Twitter as well as on XBOX,  to go on stage and finish off the song with him.  It was really amazing.   These guys truly love to interact with their fans and they do it sincerely.

Wes Borland, dressed in his signature black paint, complete with witch hat, is such an amazing guitarist. I caught myself, in awe, just mesmerized by him.  John Otto, rockin' out on those drums mixed with Sam Rivers on bass, brought the crowd to their feet. DJ Lethal, of course, mixing it all together, infused the crowd and brought them to the dark side.

The show ended with "Faith" and Fred instructed all the ladies to come up on stage and dance during the song.  The girls were flying over the barricades and jumping up onto the stage, as best as they could.  Actually it was a lil funny watching some of them struggle so hard to get up there.  At the end of their set gold confetti was shot out of cannons and covered the sweaty beer soaked crowd.  Only leaving them adrenalized and wanting more.

These are some of the nicest guys we have ever met, from the band, to their security, to the road crew, to the NINJA and the manager.  They are all just a great bunch of nice, hilarious, sweet guys.  Fred Durst invited us to come the next day to Syracuse NY for KROCKATHON, which we did.   It was awesome as this was a true "pleasure" show and not work.  Of course, it was another amazing show.  This time we were escorted onto the stage and were allowed to watch the show from there.  It was truly an amazing sight to see.  The crowd was insane and, of course, the LB boys brought their A Game and pumped them up even more.  We are looking forward to Limp Bizkit touring the US, hopefully this fall/winter.
